U.S. Military and economic Aggression Against Venezuela

Course Description

This course provides a historical overview of US imperialism in Venezuela, the context for the Trump administration’s illegal invasion of Venezuela and kidnapping of President Maduro and First Lady Flores. Faculty examine and analyze the illegality of US military and economic aggression against Venezuela which include: violations of the UN Charter and international law prohibitions of the use of force, forced regime change, seizure of lands and resources, occupation, and the use of unauthorized sanctions (unilateral coercive measures).
